The record of the National Fruit Collection, at Brogdale in Kent, describes it1:
Thought to have originated on the Island of Fyn, Denmark. It was known to have been in existence in 1840. Introduced by Mathiesens nursery in about 1873. Fruits have firm, crisp, fine white flesh with a sweet, subacid and slightly aromatic flavour.
